Have you heard of spirulina algae? This food is considered by many to be the "food of the future," thanks to its immense amount of nutrients and essential amino acids for preserving health and nourishing the body. Furthermore, spirulina is one of the very few plant sources of vitamin B12, which is necessary for the proper functioning of our bodies and is usually found in foods of animal origin.
Today, spirulina helps solve global malnutrition and food shortages because it can be grown in warm, sunny climates, which is precisely where much of today's malnutrition exists, producing twenty times more protein than soybeans grown in areas of similar size. Spirulina was even declared the best food for the future at the 1974 United Nations World Food Conference .

How to consume it?
Spirulina can be taken in powder form, mixed with water or food, or in capsules or tablets. If you're taking it in powder form, it's important to keep in mind that it has a strong flavor, so we recommend using it in moderation.
Likewise, if you opt for capsules or tablets, it is recommended that you consume reasonable doses: no more than 4 g per day.
You can also try more adventurous combinations, such as sprinkling 1 tablespoon of spirulina powder over freshly popped popcorn, or adding a touch to your salsas or guacamole.
You can even make a delicious spirulina chocolate by melting a bar of chocolate (preferably dark, with little or no sugar) in a double boiler, adding 1 teaspoon of spirulina powder, and letting it solidify again.
And you, do you already know this food, how do you prefer to consume it?
