Healthy cravings to combat unhealthy cravings

Mid-morning or mid-afternoon craving? Have you ever been at the office or at home and suddenly had an uncontrollable craving for something sweet or savory, and you'd give anything to satisfy it? Note: this probably isn't hunger, but rather a craving, and there could be several causes, not necessarily that your body needs food.

We often crave unhealthy foods, and this has nothing to do with our body's need for nourishment; on the contrary, it's more related to anxiety, stress, excessive fatigue, and other issues. These fried and processed foods, whether sweet or savory, are not good for you. We suggest that, instead of eliminating these small snacks, you replace them with healthy treats that provide nutrients and energy to your body. Here's how you can replace some of these unhealthy cravings with options your body will truly appreciate:


Soda vs. natural juice : If you love the sweet, fizzy taste of these drinks, we suggest opting for natural juice and adding a little mineral water. This way, you'll satisfy your craving but consume much less sugar.


Chocolate vs. nuts and seeds: A healthy alternative to processed chocolate is walnuts or almonds, a source of energy and numerous nutrients that help the body function. You can also opt for less processed dark chocolate, which has less sugar and more cocoa.
