3 tips to start the year on a high note
Do you have a New Year's ritual? What do you like most about this celebration? Here are three tips to start the year off right.
1.- Set realistic goals, write them down and set a date!
Often, we're overcome with enthusiasm at the beginning of the year, and we want to quickly accomplish everything we didn't accomplish last year. Does that sound familiar? To prevent your list of resolutions from becoming a torment, set realistic goals that fit your time, energy, and resources. A good tip is to set a date, even an estimated one, to accomplish your goal. Writing your list of resolutions on paper and keeping it visible is also a good idea. Create a space on your list to write down how much and how much progress you've made toward achieving that goal. This will help you track your progress and see that every day you're closer to achieving what you set out to do.

2.- To begin and be present, it is also necessary to say goodbye and let go.
While New Year's rituals are exciting and hopeful, it's also important to bring closure to the passing year. Give yourself a few days at the end of December or even the beginning of January to review the past year. Take stock, remember all the positive and not-so-positive experiences, acknowledge all your lessons learned, and gradually close that cycle mentally. You can do it your way: writing, meditating, talking with someone close to you, spending time in silence with yourself... This will help you prepare to start the new year with the best energy and prevent your thoughts from getting stuck in the past. Live the present to the fullest!

3.- This year dare to do something new
Get out of your comfort zone... or expand it! This year, do something new you've never done before. Give yourself the opportunity to discover and learn; to share and grow. Doing new activities stimulates our brains, allows us to make new connections, open us up to other possibilities, and even make new friends. What would you like to try in 2020?
