If you like to have fresh food at home and shop monthly, these tips will help you keep your food as well preserved as possible in the refrigerator. Avoiding food waste and making the most of it.
- Place meats, seafood, chicken, and fish in containers to prevent their liquids from spilling onto the rest of the food. And preferably place them at the top of the refrigerator, where temperatures tend to be lower.
- Keep fresh fruits and vegetables well-ventilated, storing them in lower cabinets, dry and without bags; this prevents condensation and rot.
- Use shallow containers and, if possible, cut the pieces into pieces to facilitate the entry of cold into them.
- Cover cooked foods with plastic wrap or store them in covered containers to prevent flavor contamination.
- Do not overfill the refrigerator, so that cold air can circulate easily.
