If you like to have fresh food at home and shop monthly, these tips will help you keep food in the best possible condition in the fridge. Avoiding food waste and making the most of it.
- Place meat, seafood, chicken and fish in containers to prevent their liquids from spilling onto the rest of the food. And preferably place them in the upper part of the fridge, which tends to have a lower temperature.
- Keep fresh vegetables and fruits well ventilated, order them in the lower cabinets, dry and without bags; this is to prevent moisture condensation and rotting.
- Use shallow containers and if possible chop the pieces to facilitate the entry of cold into them.
- Cover cooked foods with plastic wrap or store them in containers with lids to avoid flavor contamination.
- Do not overfill the fridge, so that the cold air circulates easily.
